Asia Game Show 2012

Asia Game Show 2012 was open from the 21st of December to the 24th of December and it marked the 11th year anniversary opening at the HKCEC, Wanchai, Hong Kong. It was my 3rd time visiting this show since 2009. It has been anticipated that over 470,000 gaming enthusiasts attended the 4-day 8000sqm event.

Metal Gear Rising was the most anticipated game for me. This was the first time I played the game and it was awesome. It provides excellent visuals by restricting your playground and still keeping the cinematic world of MGS. The controls and responses were smooth. Raiden was actually moving like he’s suppose to. I’m keeping an eye on this one.

Grand Turismo 5 booth was sporting an awesome 5 screen driving simulator.

There was a huge line for playing GOW: Ascension. Despite waiting in line, it was totally worth it! As soon as I picked up the controller I immediately recognized the control

The most interesting Sony product was the Personal 3D Viewer. At first I thought it was just another head mount display. But it’s a personal entertainment system like never before. It puts you right into the heart of movies and gaming – a High Definition, 3D, virtual 5.1 surround sound world of sensation. The depth of field was impressive and the picture quality was perfect. This is clearly not a model that’s anywhere near ready for the market, but it looks really cool nonetheless.

Other highlights of the event included:
Escape Game
J-Pop Concerts
Cosplay@AGS
Classic Game Exhibition
Gaming Seminars and Talks
