iOS 11 release is nigh and if you were an Apple enthusiast like me, you’d have alread downloaded the Beta. After using the Beta for about 2 weeks now, it is safe to say good things are coming. iOS 11 is a pretty big update both in features and as in visually update. No matter what iPhone model you’re currently using, you’ll soon be able to update to iOS11. So here are top 5 features that you want to look out for.

5. Screen Capture:

The Screenshots in iOS was pretty simple before, you take a screenshot and it is available on your photo gallery. Now, you take a screenshot and it kinda floats on the left bottom of screen where you can then tap on it and edit them instantly. It gives you markup tools and crop options right away. You can even take multiple screenshots, the floating thumbnails won’t block your screenshots, then edit em all together before you save. Or you can just leave them till they disappear, to be saved to you photo gallery. Now you can also record your screens natively. This will come in handy for a lot of Snapchat users (wink, wink), cause snapchat doesn’t know you’re recording, atleast not yet.

4. App Store:

There is a new and improved App Store. It’s got a new layout and visual updates. The new card layouts for the featured cards are looking awesome. Now, you have a dedicated games section right from the home menu, which if you have ever worked with a mobile game company, is a huge plus for devs to feature their content. Generally its a lot more fast and fun to browse around with the new layout.

3. Improved Siri:

“Hey Siri” feature has improved a lot. Now you can do live translations without typing. Generally, “Hey Siri” queue has an improved response time and is more reliable than its ever been.

2. Visual Improvements:

Visually, there’s an over haul of improvements and gives you that fresh new feel. Everything is cleaned up. New icons, the dock doesn’t have any labels any more and lot of new animation updates. Lock screen buttons are more glossy and clean too. New animations include waking up your phone, unlocking is more smoother, double tapping home button for multitasking is much more smoother with rounded edges. You won’t probably notice is as much at first but as you put in hours into it, you’ll start noticing these subtle changes that significantly improves the UX overall.

1. Control Center

This is a pretty welcome change that every iOS user was asking for. Finally, the Control Center is now actually customisable. All the buttons and toggles are now 3D Touch for more options or more precise control. You can add or remove toggles from your settings. There are lots of new animations for the icons. I immediately fell in love with the new control centre. For me the Control Center takes at the crown for iOS 11.

There are ton of new features, like file managers, click and drag multiple app icons to group, do not disturb while drive mode, read QR Codes directly from your camera app and new person to person payments through Apple Pay. Just remember, it’s still only in developer preview and there could be more stuff added or removed from the final update.

Art Basel’s fifth edition in Hong Kong features 242 premier galleries from 34 countries and territories, as well as a new sector, Kabinett. The largest contemporary art fair in the city, this year features 29 new galleries and half of the galleries showing overall have exhibition spaces in Asia and the Asia Pacific region. The show takes place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Founded by gallerists in 1970, Art Basel supports the role that galleries play in nurturing of artists and the development and promotion of visual arts.
